About the Initiative

We are a Language Education Consulting initiative supporting educational organizations, educators, and language learners in multilingual contexts with English as a target language. Our work is sustained by research-informed practice, plurilingual education, and a deep understanding of how languages interact. We specialize in curriculum design, professional development, and strategic guidance.

As a language educational initiative, we acknowledge the English language learner’s full linguistic repertoire as a foundational feature from which language proficiency is holistically built. We believe that strengthening English proficiency in sustainable ways, empowers learners to enhance their English language skills while also valuing their own linguistic repertoire.

The initiative is directed by Dr. Kevin Randall Steil, an educational researcher and educator with over a decade of experience across primary, secondary, higher education, and adult learning contexts.

Our mission is to design English language education that is equitable, effective, and responsive to multilingual realities.

Meet the Director

Dr. Kevin Randall Steil is a curious fellow who has had an interest in language development since his childhood. Growing up in rural central Texas exposed him to various vernaculars of English alongside colloquial Spanish. It was there that he first found value in linguistic diversity, despite the marginalization of Spanish and certain English vernaculars.

Continuing with his curiosity, Dr. Steil embarked upon a backpacking teacher’s journey that would allow him to explore linguistic frontiers that were unbeknownst to him at the time. His interest was in learning how languages can exist side by side across cultures. What was supposed to be a temporary trek through different parts of the globe quickly became a lifelong journey in the field of language education.

Because Kevin's extensive interest in language learning is combined with an enriched knowledge of language teaching practices, he is able to provide direction in English language teaching in multilingual contexts. His ideas and concepts have gone through rigorous crucibles that have resulted in publications in first-quartile journals, research awards, and participation in international conferences.
