EAL Curriculum Development: Plurilingual Adaptation for Jesuïtes Sarrià

This project supported Jesuïtes Sarrià in the update of its English as an Additional Language (EAL) curriculum for the first year of secondary education, with a specific focus on aligning classroom practice with the English compulsory competencies of the institution and the plurilingual competencies recommended by the Department of Education of Catalonia.

Through close collaboration with teachers, administrators, and support staff, the project prioritized curricular coherence, pedagogical alignment, and long-term sustainability. The resulting curriculum framework supports multilingual learners while meeting institutional priorities and regulatory requirements, providing educators with clear, actionable guidance for classroom implementation.

Ongoing data collection throughout the partnership informed continuous refinement of both content and delivery. Analysis of learner feedback indicated increased confidence in language use, higher self-esteem related to language learning, and a stronger perception of individual language-learning aptitude—demonstrating the positive impact of a well-aligned, data-informed curriculum.
